Mr. S and Miss A started preschool today! They were super excited about it. S is in Pre-K, and A is in the 2-year-old class. They've been to preschool before, but the place they've been at has started a new program, which begins earlier in the morning and lets them out earlier (8am-12:15pm). I found a cute pattern to make a "smocket" so I set aside some time this week to make one. The Mayfly: You Asked For It (smocket pattern) I made it from some blue flowery fabric that was in my sewing box, backed with white fabric that was... sitting in my sewing box. S ended up with A's cold and ear infection, but I think they have both improved quite a bit over the weekend. I found this great reusable shopping bag tutorial and decided to give it a try. I am quite pleased with the results! At Sunday School and Preschool this week, his teachers asked each child in the class what they are thankful for. S told them, at both places, that he is thankful for his little sister. This morning while I was putting away laundry, I could hear my husband in the playroom reading with our kids. During July, we took a trip to Twin Lakes, outside of Bridgeport, CA. We stayed at Twin Lakes Resort on Lower Twin Lake for two weeks. My big boy is potty training! That means he is washing his hands--a lot--and his favorite soap to use is foaming hand soap. It is pretty expensive, and I hate to buy a new foaming soap bottle every time we run out. So, I went on the hunt for a recipe for a foaming soap refill. It works great! Here it is: 3 Tbsp. hand soap 2/3 cup warm water Gently mix them together (do not shake!) That's it!!
